Dr. Mariana Schröder
Psychologist

Welcome. I'm here to provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, understand your emotions, and work toward lasting personal growth. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, searching for clarity, or simply striving for a more meaningful life, I'm here to support you on your journey of growth and self-discovery.

Using evidence-based methods, I offer practical, effective tools to help you create a more meaningful and balanced life—strengthening your resilience to stress and enhancing your relationships and overall well-being. My approach blends cognitive and behavioral strategies with a clear emphasis on your unique values and personal goals. Together, we’ll uncover and shift unhelpful thought and behavior patterns, opening the door to healthier ways of coping, connecting, and making choices. My goal is to support lasting transformation—not only in how you handle stress, but in how you relate to yourself and the world around you.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT is a widely used, evidence-based type of psychotherapy that focuses on identifying and modifying maladaptive thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

Systemic Family Therapy

This method approaches problems practically rather than analytically and lays the focus on relationships.

What sets my practice apart is my unique background in experimental psychology, grounded in neuroscience and epigenetics. This allows me to offer an approach that is not only empathetic but also informed by scientific research. I help you gain a deeper understanding of the emotional, cognitive, and physiological aspects of your well-being. Together, we work to reframe unhelpful, inaccurate, or negative thoughts about yourself and the world around you, while focusing on decision-making and behavioral change. By identifying and addressing unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior, we can develop more effective, less distressing ways to navigate and cope with emotional challenges.

I offer individual counseling for adults with specialties in the following areas:

I am currently accepting adults for counseling and therapy, offering both online and in-person sessions in Bern, Switzerland, or a combination of the two. I provide treatment in English, Spanish, and Hebrew. Sessions last 50 minutes.

This is a private praxis, so that treatment is not covered by the Swiss health insurance.
